The DIGIOP Cares Initiative
An important part of the DIGIOP culture is the commitment to share our blessings and give back to the communities where we live and work.
As a result, the DIGIOP Cares program was launched to promote and coordinate our charitable initiatives in the Indianapolis area and beyond.
November 2008
The team's initial effort was a food drive to benefit a local women and children's shelter. During the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving 2008, the team collected hundreds of non-perishable food items in an effort to help restock the shelter's food pantry.
December 2008
DIGIOP team members donated items including both winter clothes and household items including diapers and wipes for another center for women and children in Indianapolis.
January - May 2009
In the first quarter of 2009, the DIGIOP team supported children in need through Mission 500, the security industry's response to children in crisis. This nonprofit effort provides food, clothing, health and education to children around the world through sponsorships and donations. Five children are now sponsored by DIGIOP team members and more than $300 has been donated on behalf of DIGIOP.
In April, members of the DIGIOP team visited Mexico for the Expo Seguridad tradeshow. While in Mexico, the team visited children supported by this mission. Read DIGIOP President Rich Mellott's blog post about his experience and check out the photos on our Facebook page!
Current Mission: Any Soldier®
The DIGIOP Team would like to encourage you to join us in supporting Any Soldier, a program that serves our troops overseas by sending care packages addressed to soldiers who receive little to no communication and those who have endured great loss during their time in Iraq.
